Oklahoma City is the only municipality in the Oklahoma City-County Department’s (OCCHD) jurisdiction that requires a license for massage establishments and for individuals to perform massage within OKC city limits.
Steps to Obtain a Massage Therapist, Off-Site, or Establishment License
“Massage Therapist” is required for the individual performing massage (as defined in Chapter 28 of the Oklahoma City ordinance).
“Massage Establishment” is required for the stationary location where massage is offered. This is usually for the owner and/or manager of the location.
“Off-Site” allows the individual to perform massage at other locations in OKC.
To get an “Off Site” license the person must also get a “Massage Therapist” license. The “Off-Site” license allows the individual to help with marathons, runs, and other special events at various locations.
