Children First
Becoming a mom for the first-time can be a lot to handle.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have your very own personal nurse to support you on your journey?
Children First is part of the National evidence-based community health program known as the Nurse-Family Partnership. This program has been transforming the lives of first-time mothers in Oklahoma for 25 years!
Children First partners first-time mothers with a specially trained registered nurse who will provide brief health assessments, growth/developmental assessments for infants, support in accessing needed community resources, and health education centered around the mother’s needs and heart’s desire. Services are provided in the convenience of your home, or any place the mother would like, such as school, public library or the Children First office.
The program is voluntary and provided at no cost to participating families. To enroll, one must be less than 29 weeks pregnant, meet income criteria (same guidelines as WIC & Soonercare), and planning to parent for the first time.
