Students
Students are essential to the OKC-County Health Department and its mission. We offer a variety of opportunities for students.
As a participant in the OCCHD internship program, students must:
- Be enrolled in an approved college or university
- Be in good standing with the college or university
- Agree to abide by OCCHD policies and procedures
- Adhere to OCCHD security procedures
- Authorize their college or university and OCCHD to exchange information related to their school records, application, performance as an intern, and other relevant information
OCCHD requires a completed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with all schools and/or programs before students can begin their internship with our agency. This process can take up to 6 weeks. Please keep this in mind as you apply. If your school does not have a current contract with OCCHD, please contact the student liaison at [email protected] to request a tentative placement.
DO YOU ACCEPT NURSE PRACTITIONER STUDENTS?
We are not accepting Nurse Practitioner students at this time. Please see the OK State Department of Health. website for more information.
How do Non-Nursing Students GET STARTED?
Students can request placement at OCCHD by completing the OCCHD Clinical Student Checklist Form. The OCCHD Clinical Student Checklist form serves as the starting point for the placement process. Students should submit the checklist verifying the time-period and internship in which they have interest.
