Diabetes is a complex chronic disease. It is a disease where the body does not produce or properly use insulin. This causes your blood glucose to be too high
What are signs and symptoms of diabetes?
Most people with diabetes do not have any symptoms. It is important to see your healthcare provider at least annually to monitor for changes.

- Being very thirsty
- Urinating often
- Losing weight without trying
Who is at risk for diabetes?
the risk for diabetes goes up with age, wait gain, and inactivity. It is also more common in African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders. Additional risk factors include:
- High Blood pressure (140/90 or above)
- Family history of diabetes
- Diabetes during pregnancy or having a baby that weighed more than 9 pounds at birth.
