OCCHD Unveils State-Of-The-Art Mobile Clinic To Expand Public Health Services

Sept. 03, 2024

**Oklahoma City, OK – Sept. 03, 2024** – The Oklahoma City-County Health Department (OCCHD) is proud to announce the unveiling of a cutting-edge mobile clinic, a significant step forward in our mission to improve public health accessibility across Oklahoma County.

Addressing one of the biggest challenges in public health—ensuring access to essential services for under-resourced populations. The new mobile clinic will enable OCCHD to deliver a wide range of health services directly to the communities that need them the most.

The mobile clinic features an administrative and waiting area, examination room, restroom, lab station, and two counseling rooms, plus it is wheelchair accessible. The clinic’s spacious interior includes an exam bed, which allows clinic staff to perform various services beyond immunizations, including STI exams, WIC appointments, and other critical health assessments.

“This mobile clinic represents a significant step forward in how the Oklahoma City-County Health Department delivers public health services,” said Dr. Patrick McGough, DNP, MSHR, RN, CHA, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health Officer of OCCHD. “The highly advanced mobile clinic will not only allow us to further expand our reach to communities with limited access to public health services but will reinforce our ability to quickly adapt and respond to the ever-changing public health needs of the Oklahoma City-County residents who we have the privilege of serving.”

The mobile clinic is our fleet’s most advanced unit and will play a crucial role in supporting large-scale events throughout Oklahoma County. By bringing services directly to where they are most needed, we aim to improve health outcomes and provide crucial support to our most vulnerable populations. OCCHD is committed to leveraging this new resource to ensure that every resident of Oklahoma County has access to the comprehensive health services they deserve.
