Food Protection Education

The inspectors at the OKC-County Health Department offer various types of classes and training to our licensed establishments. Training is offered free of charge and attempts are made to conduct the training at the convenience of the facility. Training can be offered on-site at the requesting establishment or at a location determined by the parties involved. Some examples of training offered are:

  • Food safety and sanitation
  • Swimming pool safety
  • Good hygiene
  • Childcare food safety
  • What to expect from your inspection
  • Foodborne illness
  • Special events

Training is catered to meet the needs of your establishment and your employees. Training can be conducted as a classroom style training with handouts, PowerPoint presentation, etc., or can be presented as a hands-on training in the facility.

This Holiday Food Safety Video shows how to store, prepare, and serve food safely to prevent foodborne illness from ruining the holidays. Follow these easy steps:

CLEAN: Wash hands and surfaces often
SEPARATE: Separate raw meats from other foods
COOK: Cook to the right temperature
CHILL: Refrigerate food promptly
